Dear Overcomers in Him, today we want to address a destructive tactic employed by narcissists known as the push-pull method. This method is designed to control and confuse their victims, leaving them vulnerable and ensnared. But fear not, for as believers, we have the power to walk in self-authority and agency, avoiding the traps set by these manipulators.
1️⃣ Understanding the push-pull method: Narcissists use the push-pull technique as a means to maintain power and control over others. They alternate between showering their targets with excessive attention, affection, and validation and then abruptly withdrawing, creating confusion, doubt, and longing for their approval. This cycle is repeated to keep victims off balance and reliant on their manipulative tactics.
2️⃣ Recognizing the signs: Awareness is key to breaking free from the grasp of a narcissist. Educate yourself about the signs of narcissistic behavior - such as grandiosity, manipulation, emotional abuse, and lack of empathy. By understanding these characteristics, you will be better equipped to identify when someone is employing the push-pull method in your life.
3️⃣ Embracing self-authority and agency: As Overcomers in Him, we are called to walk in the authority and freedom bestowed upon us through Christ. Recognize that you have the power to set healthy boundaries and make decisions that align with your values and well-being. Trust your instincts and intuition - they are invaluable tools in navigating relationships and identifying potential narcissistic dynamics.
4️⃣ Seek healing and support: If you have been ensnared by a narcissist, it is crucial to prioritize your healing. Reach out to trustworthy friends, family, or professionals who can offer support and guidance. Through coaching, therapy, or support groups such as Overcomers in Him, you can gain insights, develop coping strategies, and reclaim your sense of self-worth and identity.
5️⃣ Cultivate a strong sense of self for who God created you to be: Focus on building a solid foundation of self-worth and love. Invest time in self-care, pursue your passions, and surround yourself with positive influences. Remember that your identity is rooted in your relationship with God, not in the opinions or actions of others. By anchoring yourself in Him, you fortify your resilience against the manipulation of narcissists.
Dear Overcomers in Him, you are not alone. We stand together, supporting one another as we navigate the challenges posed by narcissistic manipulation. Trust in your ability to discern healthy relationships, set boundaries, and walk in the freedom Christ has given you. Embrace your self-authority and agency, knowing that you are worthy of love, respect, and genuine connection.
Stay strong, seek healing, and remember that you deserve to live a life free from the toxic webs of manipulation. Together, we can rise above and walk confidently in the truth of who we are in Him. 💪🏼❤️✨
