Leadership & Submission

A man is not a god simply because he is a husband.
Too many women have been taught that "submission" means tolerating abuse, deception, manipulation, addiction, infidelity, intimidation, or ungodly leadership. That is not what Scripture teaches.
God never calls a wife to submit to sin. He calls us to submit first to Him.
A man who refuses to submit his own life to Christ cannot expect unquestioning obedience while leading his family away from God. Pride, control, lies, rage, selfishness, addictions, laziness, and spiritual hypocrisy don't build a godly home—they slowly destroy it.
A husband is called to love his wife as Christ loves the church: sacrificially, humbly, faithfully, and with integrity. Leadership is earned through Christlike character, not demanded through fear or control or blindly in sin.
As women of God, we must be careful not to enable sinful behavior by confusing biblical submission with silent compliance. Loving someone does not require participating in their sin or protecting them from the consequences of their choices.
Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is establish healthy, biblical boundaries while continuing to pray for true repentance. This is ultimately true love for another.
Your highest allegiance is to Jesus Christ. When your relationship with Him comes first, you gain the wisdom and courage to discern the difference between honoring a godly husband and enabling ungodly behavior.
Don't let anyone use Scripture to keep you trapped in what God never intended.
God never asks us to sacrifice truth, safety, or obedience to Him in order to preserve someone else's sin.
💗 At Overcomers in Him, I help Christian women heal from trauma, break free from unhealthy patterns, establish biblical boundaries, and become the women God created them to be.
