🌿The Fruits of the Spirit as Our Plumb Line🌿

📖Scripture gives us a powerful measuring tool for both our own lives and the lives of others: the fruits of the Spirit.

🩷“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” — Galatians 5:22-23

📏This fruit is not just a suggestion—it’s a plumb line, a standard we can hold up to measure character. It helps us discern if someone’s words and actions align with God’s Spirit, or if red flags are waving behind a mask of charm or empty promises.

🗣Words matter deeply. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” The way we speak over others—and even over ourselves—shapes the atmosphere of our homes, our relationships, and our very lives.

🙏When we bless instead of curse, we release life.

🗣When we complain, attack (even passive-aggressively), or tear down, we destroy the very foundation we’re trying to build.

🗣The words that flow from our mouths reveal much about the condition of our hearts.

Are they saturated in the Spirit’s fruit, or are they used for selfish gain and manipulation? Are they pure and sincere, or are they designed to control and destroy?

Overcomers in Him, this is our call to action:

➡️ Examine your own fruit. Are your words bearing love, joy, and peace, or bitterness and strife?

➡️ Use the fruits of the Spirit as your safeguard—your plumb line—for relationships and discernment.

➡️ Speak blessings over yourself and others, and watch the Lord bring forth life where the enemy has tried to sow death.

Let us be a people whose fruit proves our faith, whose words reveal God’s Spirit within us, and whose lives point to Jesus as the true vine. 🌿
