💥Being a Biblical Helpmeet Is Not Just Cooking, Cleaning, and Bearing Children💥

ree

We’ve been sold a watered-down version of what it means to be a helpmeet. The world—and even parts of the church—have reduced this holy calling to housework and motherhood alone.

Please understand, I love traditional roles.  I love taking care of my home, my husband,  and my children.  I love to cook, clean, manage finances, homeschool, plan/attend events,  and be present for my family. I’ve supported my husband in his calling as protector and provider so he could be successful.   I’ve made our bread products from fresh ground wheat, learned about herbs and essential oils, been open to homebirthing, grown a garden, canned our food, sewed clothes for my children, made quilts and afghans, made my own yogurt, wine, candles, etc.  I nursed my children and have done Bible studies with them every day.  I’ve served in children’s ministries alongside my children growing up.  I was a full time stay at home mom for about 20 years. I still work my career in a way to be home and available as much as possible-even though my youngest is 17. My goal has been to be a Proverbs 31 woman, while being the best wife and mom I could be. (And while I've made many mistakes along the way, that has always been my focus and my heart. )

While those mentioned are beautiful, sacred roles, they are only part of the calling.

The original Hebrew word in Genesis 2:18 is “Ezer Kenegdo.”

This means “a strong help facing” or “a warrior counterpart.”

It’s the same word used to describe God as our helper in times of battle (Psalm 33:20, Deut. 33:7).

💪 We were created to fight alongside, stand face-to-face, and uphold righteousness.

We are not passive, silent shadows. We are active partners in God's mission—even if that means standing alone in obedience to Him.

✨ Being a Biblical helpmeet means:

Speaking truth in love, even when it’s hard.

Refusing to cover for sin, deception, or manipulation.

Staying aligned with the Word, even when our husbands, families, or leaders stray.

This doesn’t mean dishonoring or belittling our husbands. It means honoring God first, and loving others enough to stand firm in righteousness.

🔥 10 Things Women of God Must Stand Strong On (with Love and Obedience):

1. Truth Over Deception

👉 Never lie to protect sin—truth sets free (John 8:32).

2. God’s Word Over Man’s Opinion

👉 If it contradicts Scripture, it’s not of God—no matter who says it (Galatians 1:10).

3. Integrity in the Home

👉 Stand against secrets, shame, and cover-ups—light always wins over darkness.

4. Faithfulness to God’s Calling

👉 Even if your spouse discourages it, obey God’s commands and assignment on your life.

5. Protection of Children

👉 Stand firm against abuse, manipulation, or spiritual neglect.

6. Prayer and Intercession

👉 Be the spiritual warrior covering your home—even if you’re the only one praying.

7. Guarding Your Peace

👉 Chaos is not from God—set boundaries to preserve peace and holiness.  We are called to be “managers of our home.”  This does not mean we are controlling.  It means we are acting in obedience to have a home with order, structure, peace, wisdom, and holiness.

8. Wise Counsel, Not Isolation

👉 Seek biblical community and mentorship—iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

9. Refusing to Enable Sin

👉 Love does not mean enabling. It means encouraging repentance and healing.

10. Boldness in Love

👉 Speak the truth with gentleness and grace, always pointing to Jesus.

You are not just a helper... you are an Ezer Kenegdo.

A divine warrior and watchman, standing for truth, righteousness, and obedience to the Lord.

Even when it’s uncomfortable.

Even when you’re misunderstood.

Even when you’re doing it alone.

👑 Daughter of the King, rise up. You were made to stand.

Not just for your husband.

Not just for your children.

But for the Kingdom of God.
